Open Monday to Saturday through to the end of October (Closed bank holiday Mondays)
Sidmouth was described by John Betjeman as "a town caught in a timeless charm". With its Royal connections, historic architecture, spectacular coastline, beaches, and plentiful gardens, it has something for everyone.
Sidmouth Museum is situated in a historic building in the heart of the town. Inside are two floors with multiple rooms featuring beautifully curated displays exploring Sidmouth's rich history.
The Museum is owned and managed by the Sid Vale Association and is run entirely by volunteers. We look foward to seeing you.
Love history? Enjoy chatting to people? We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help at Sidmouth Museum this coming season (April-October). Whether you can give a morning or afternoon a week, a few days a week, or more, we’d love to hear from you!
It’s a great way to meet people, learn more about our local heritage, and be part of a fantastic community team.
Interested? Send us a message at museumvols2@gmail.com, or pop into the museum and leave your details.
Your visit is very important to us! Your entry fee and any donations help ensure that we can continue to provide new and exciting exhibitions and displays each year.
